Bihar to Hire 1 Lakh Teachers by 2030 Through BPSC TRE 4

Bihar just made a big promise to its students. The state government plans to hire 1 lakh teachers over the next five years, and the first big step starts with BPSC TRE 4. If you have been waiting for a government teaching job in Bihar, this is the news you want to read carefully.

What is the plan?

Between 2026 and 2030, Bihar will recruit around 20,000 teachers every year. These teachers will fill vacant posts in primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools across the state. The goal is simple: fix the teacher shortage that has been troubling government schools for years.

To make this happen, the state government has decided to conduct the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4 through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). This exam will open doors for thousands of aspiring teachers who want to work in government schools.

When will BPSC TRE 4 recruitment start?

Bihar's Education Minister informed the state assembly that the government will send its requisition to BPSC this month itself. Before sending this requisition, the government has already assessed the subject-wise and school-wise teacher shortage in every district. This data will form the base for the vacancy proposal sent to BPSC.

According to reports, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari shared that the teacher requirement assessment is happening alongside the ongoing teacher transfer process. Once this transfer process wraps up, the requisition for TRE-4 will go to BPSC by the last week of July.

On the transfer policy, the minister added that the government has asked every school to share details of subject-wise teacher availability. This information will help place teachers based on the student-teacher ratio, so no school ends up with too many teachers in one subject and none in another.

Government schools to get land within six months

Here is another piece of good news. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has decided to provide land to government schools that do not have their own permanent building. The government has set a six-month deadline for this.

Responding to a question from JDU MLA Manjit Kumar Singh in the assembly, Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari revealed that 2,276 primary schools and 792 higher secondary schools in Bihar currently run without their own buildings. He assured that the government is working quickly to solve this problem.

When will the BPSC TRE 4 exam happen?

BPSC conducts the Teacher Recruitment Exam whenever the state government sends a requisition for filling teacher vacancies in government schools. As per the BPSC exam calendar for 2026, the TRE-4 exam is scheduled to take place from September 22 to September 27, 2026. The results are expected to be announced in November 2026.

So mark your calendars. If you are preparing for a teaching career in Bihar, this timeline gives you a clear runway to plan your studies and get ready for the exam.

Why this matters

A shortage of teachers affects the quality of education that students receive. Fewer teachers mean overcrowded classrooms and less attention for each student. By hiring 1 lakh teachers over five years and fixing the student-teacher ratio, Bihar is trying to give its schools the support they actually need.

The move to provide land for schools without buildings also matters here. A teacher can only do so much if the school itself lacks a proper structure. Both these steps together point towards a bigger effort to strengthen the state's education system from the ground up.

For students, parents and job seekers alike, this is a moment worth watching closely over the coming months.
