The Azim Premji Scholarship 2026-27 application process is now open for eligible young women entering higher education. The scholarship offers financial support to students who have completed Class 12 and are joining the first year of an undergraduate degree or diploma course.
Round 1 applications opened on August 10, 2026. Students must submit their forms by August 31, 2026. The Azim Premji Foundation will also open Round 2 from January 10 to January 31, 2027. There is no application fee, so your wallet can stay safely at home.
What does the scholarship offer?
Selected students can receive Rs 30,000 each year. The support can continue for the full period of the student’s first undergraduate degree or diploma programme. A student may receive up to Rs 1.5 lakh during the course.
The scholarship aims to support young women from disadvantaged backgrounds who want to continue their studies after Class 12. The Foundation states that the scholarship is not awarded based on merit, caste, financial status or religion. Students must still meet all the listed education and course requirements.

Applicants should avoid waiting until the last day. A slow internet connection, a missing document or an incorrect bank detail can turn a short form into a long evening.
Who can apply?
Applicants must meet each of the following conditions:
- The scholarship is open to girl students.
- The applicant must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student.
- Class 10 and Class 12 must have been completed from a government school or college in one of the eligible states or Union Territories.
- The applicant must have secured admission to the first year of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma programme.
- The course must be a regular programme offered by a government institution or a recognised private college or university in India.
- The programme must lead to the student’s first undergraduate degree or diploma after Class 12.
- Students already studying in the second, third, fourth or fifth year cannot apply as new applicants.
- Distance-learning programmes are not eligible.
- Students who currently receive or have earlier received a Wipro scholarship, including the Santoor Scholarship, cannot apply.
- There is no age limit if all other conditions are met.
Eligible states and Union Territories
Students must have completed both Class 10 and Class 12 in one of these locations:
Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCT), Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The college or university where the student takes admission can be located anywhere in India. Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT) have been added to the eligible list for the 2026-27 scholarship cycle.
Documents needed for registration
Keep clear copies of the required documents before starting the form. Applicants may need:
- Aadhaar card
- Class 10 marksheet
- Class 12 marksheet
- Recent photograph
- Proof of admission to the degree or diploma course
- Bank account details
- Mobile number linked to the application
Use a bank account in the student’s name where possible, and check every number before submitting the form. One wrong digit can send money on a very unwanted tour.
How to apply online
- Visit the official Azim Premji Foundation website at azimpremjifoundation.org.
- Select Register New Applicants Cohort 2026.
- Enter your mobile number and verify it with the OTP.
- Create a user ID and password.
- Log in and enter your personal, academic and course details.
- Upload the required documents in the format and size shown on the portal.
- Enter your bank account details with care.
- Review the complete form before submission.
- Submit the application and save a copy of the final form.
Students should use the official portal for registration and check the Foundation’s website for any changes to dates, documents or eligibility rules. Existing scholars from the 2024 and 2025 lists must follow the renewal process in September 2026 instead of applying as new candidates.
