Vidyalankar, established in 1960 by the visionary C.S. Deshpande, is one of India’s most respected names in the field of education. Born out of the founder’s passion for teaching and commitment to academic excellence, Vidyalankar began as a modest coaching institute in a rented classroom at Shardashram School, Dadar. Over the decades, it has grown into a reputed educational powerhouse, shaping the futures of countless students across the nation.

The inspiration for Vidyalankar can be traced back to C.S. Deshpande’s illustrious academic journey. Having secured the first rank in his Inter Science Examination in 1950, he demonstrated unmatched brilliance in Mathematics and Science. After pursuing B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication from the College of Engineering, Pune, and working at the prestigious Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), he went on to top the Indian Engineering Services Examination. However, his true calling was in education. With courage and conviction, he resigned from his Class I government service to dedicate himself fully to teaching.

What began in a single classroom on the auspicious day of Dasara in 1960 soon expanded into Vidyalankar’s permanent home at Pearl Centre, Dadar, in 1974. From its inception, the institute has stood for much more than academic training—it has embodied a mission of instilling values, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence in its students.
