XLRI Jamshedpur, on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes, has opened registration for XAT 2027. The window is open from July 15 to December 6, and the exam itself will take place on January 3, from 2 pm to 5 pm, across more than 100 cities in India.
XAT is not just an XLRI thing. This one exam opens doors to over 250 B-schools across the country, which makes it one of the most useful entrance tests for management aspirants.
Why You Should Not Wait Till the Last Day
Here is a small detail that many students miss. Candidates who submit their application on Day 1, that is today, get their first-choice test city. Everyone else gets whatever city is left over. So if you have a favourite city (or a friend's couch to crash on during the exam), apply now instead of waiting until December 5 at 11:58 pm.

Fees and Document Requirements

XAT tests more than just your quant skills. It also checks how you think and decide, which sets it apart from most other MBA entrance exams.

Marking Scheme
- +1 mark for every correct answer
- -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer
- -0.10 marks if you leave more than 8 consecutive questions unattempted
- No negative marking in the General Knowledge section
That last rule is worth noting. In GK, a wrong guess costs you nothing, so leaving a question blank there makes little sense.
Who Can Apply
You need a bachelor's degree of at least three years in any discipline. If you are in your final year right now, you can still apply. There is no age limit either, so whether you finished college last year or a decade ago, XAT 2027 is open to you.
