UPTET Result 2026: Check Date, Qualifying Marks and Download Steps

If you sat for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test this year, you are probably refreshing the UPESSC website every few hours. Fair enough. The wait for a result can feel longer than the exam itself. Here is everything you need to know about the UPTET 2026 result, in one place, so you can stop refreshing and start planning.

When Will the Result Come Out?

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has not confirmed a date yet. Reports suggest the result may arrive in August. The commission conducted the exam on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026, at centres spread across 75 districts. More than 17.7 lakh candidates appeared, so the number crunching takes time.

Once ready, the result will go live on the official website, upessc.up.gov.in. Keep this page bookmarked instead of typing the URL from memory at midnight.

How to Check Your UPTET 2026 Result

The process is simple and does not require any technical skill, just patience and your login details.

  • Visit upessc.up.gov.in.
  • Find and click the UPTET Result 2026 link on the homepage.
  • Enter your roll number and password or date of birth.
  • Click submit.
  • Your scorecard will appear on the screen.
  • Download it and keep a printed copy for later.

A printed copy matters more than you think. You will need it when collecting your TET certificate.

What Marks Do You Need to Pass?

The passing marks depend on your category. Here is the breakdown out of a total of 150 marks:

OBC55%82.5
SC55%82.5
ST55%82.5
EWS55%82.5
PwD55%82.5

There is no negative marking, so every guess you made is a free shot at a mark.

What Shows Up on Your Scorecard

Your UPTET scorecard is not just a pass or fail slip. It carries several details, so check each line carefully once it lands in your hands.

  • Name of the candidate
  • Registration number
  • Roll number
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Father's name
  • Qualifying marks
  • Category
  • Overall marks
  • Subject-wise marks

If anything looks off, such as a wrong spelling in your name or an incorrect category, reach out to the commission right away. Fixing errors early saves headaches during certificate collection.

Paper 1 or Paper 2, Which One Applies to You?

UPTET has two papers, and your career plan decides which one you needed. Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is for those aiming at classes 6 to 8. If you want the option to teach across classes 1 to 8, both papers apply to you.

Life After the Result

Passing the exam is only half the story. Once the result comes out, the commission will also release category-wise cutoffs. Candidates who qualify need to collect their TET certificate from the District Institute of Education and Training regional centres. Carry these documents when you go:

  • Copy of application form, admit card, or result
  • Original photo ID such as Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, or driving licence
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Special reservation certificate, if applicable

The good news is that the UPTET certificate is valid for a lifetime. Once you have it, you do not need to sit for the test again to apply for teaching posts in Uttar Pradesh government schools. You just wait for the right recruitment notification and apply with this certificate in hand.

A Quick Recap of Exam Numbers

The exam ran across 75 districts over three days. On day three alone, 955 centres in 60 districts hosted the test, with over 7.5 lakh candidates showing up, an attendance rate above 93%. That is a massive operation, and it explains why the result takes a while to process.

Until the commission makes an official announcement, keep checking upessc.up.gov.in and hold on to your roll number and password. You will need both the moment the result link goes live.
