UP TGT Cutoff List 2025: OBC, EWS and UR Marks Compared
UPESSC has released the UP TGT result and cutoff list for 2,134 posts. Here is a subject-wise comparison of UR, OBC and EWS marks.

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the result and category-wise cutoff list for the UP TGT recruitment under Advertisement Number 01/2022. The recruitment covers 2,134 posts across 12 subjects.
The cutoff data includes separate lists for male and female candidates. It shows that the gap between the Unreserved (UR) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories changes from subject to subject. In some subjects, the gap is as small as four marks. In Science, it rises to 20.160 marks.
Science has the widest UR and OBC cutoff gap
Science recorded the biggest difference between the UR and OBC cutoffs in both lists.
- Male candidates: UR cutoff was 362.880, while OBC was 342.720.
- Female candidates: UR cutoff was 342.720, while OBC was 322.560.
In both cases, the gap stood at 20.160 marks. This is the widest category difference in the released UP TGT cutoff list.
Social Science shows a 16-mark difference
Social Science also recorded a notable gap between the UR and OBC categories.
- Male candidates: UR was 404 and OBC was 388.
- Female candidates: UR was 400 and OBC was 384.
The difference in both lists was 16 marks. This places Social Science among the subjects with a wider cutoff gap.
Mathematics has one of the smallest gaps
Mathematics shows a much smaller difference between UR and OBC candidates.
- Male candidates: UR cutoff was 456 and OBC was 448, a gap of eight marks.
- Female candidates: UR cutoff was 452 and OBC was 448, a gap of four marks.
The female list also shows the OBC and EWS cutoffs at the same level of 448 marks. This makes Mathematics one of the clearest examples of a close category-wise cutoff.
Art shows equal UR and OBC marks for women
Art has a four-mark gap between UR and OBC in the male list. The UR cutoff was 480, while the OBC cutoff was 476.
In the female list, both UR and OBC had a cutoff of 476 marks. In simple terms, there was no gap between these two categories for female candidates. Cutoff lists can be full of such small surprises. Numbers do not always follow the pattern we expect.
OBC cutoff crosses EWS in some subjects
The comparison between OBC and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is another key part of the UP TGT cutoff analysis. In some subjects, the OBC cutoff was higher than the EWS cutoff.

However, this trend is not the same in every subject. In some lists, the EWS cutoff remained higher than the OBC cutoff.
Physical Education has different trends for men and women
Physical Education shows a clear difference between the male and female cutoff patterns.
- Male candidates: UR was 392, OBC was 384 and EWS was 376.
- Female candidates: UR was 396, EWS was 388 and OBC was 380.
For male candidates, OBC was eight marks above EWS. For female candidates, OBC was eight marks below EWS. The same subject can show a different result when the gender-wise lists are checked.
Music and Commerce have high UR cutoffs
Music Vocal recorded the highest cutoff among female candidates. The UR and EWS cutoffs were both 484 marks. The OBC cutoff was 480, while the SC cutoff was 476.
Among male candidates, Commerce had the highest available UR cutoff at 492 marks. Music Vocal followed at 488, and Art stood at 480. In the female list, Music Vocal had a UR cutoff of 484, followed by Art at 476.
What the UP TGT cutoff data shows
The released list shows that category gaps depend on the subject, candidate group and competition for each post. The UR and OBC difference is four marks in some cases, 12 marks in Home Science, 16 marks in Social Science and up to 20.160 marks in Science.
Candidates should check the official UPESSC result notice and the cutoff for their exact subject, gender group and category. They should also match the cutoff with their score and keep their application details ready for the next stage of the recruitment process.
