UP Scholarship 2026-27 Registration Dates, Eligibility and Application Steps

The UP Scholarship 2026-27 registration process for students of Classes 9 to 12 starts on August 11, 2026. Students must apply through the official website, scholarship.up.gov.in. The scheme covers eligible students from General, SC, ST, OBC and minority communities.

The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department issued the schedule through government orders dated July 20, 2026. The dates differ for fresh applicants and students who are renewing an existing scholarship. This difference matters, since renewal students have a shorter time to apply.

UP Scholarship dates for Classes 9 to 12

The Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Intermediate scholarship covers students in Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. Students must first identify whether they are applying as a fresh applicant or a renewal applicant.

  • Renewal students: Students in Classes 10 and 12 who already receive the scholarship can register and submit the hard copy from August 11 to August 25, 2026.
  • Fresh students: Students in Classes 9 and 11 who are applying for the first time can register online from August 11 to September 21, 2026.

A renewal application is not the same as a fresh application. If you received the scholarship earlier, select the renewal option where required. Choosing the wrong option can lead to delays during verification.

What students should do before applying

Keep the details used in your school records ready before opening the portal. Check your name, date of birth, class, category and bank details. Small spelling differences can create trouble later. Forms have a strange talent for finding the one missing detail you did not notice.

Students should also check the official portal for the current list of required documents and instructions. The school or institution may ask for a printed form and supporting papers after online submission. Do not assume that the online form is the final step.

Steps after online registration

After a student submits the form, several checks take place. The process involves the school, district officials and the state technical team.

  1. The student fills in the application on the official scholarship portal.
  2. The school checks the application and forwards eligible forms.
  3. The District School Inspector checks student numbers and related records.
  4. The National Informatics Centre, or NIC, checks the data for errors.
  5. The district committee confirms and locks the final list.
  6. The scholarship amount is sent to the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Students may not need to take action during every stage, but they should track the application through the portal and stay in touch with their school. If the school finds an error, it may ask the student to correct the form.

Expected payment dates for Class 9 to 12 students

For renewal students, the scholarship amount is expected to reach bank accounts between October 25 and October 31, 2026. For fresh students, payment is expected between January 25 and January 31, 2027.

These are government-notified timelines. Processing can change if verification takes longer, so students should check the official website for updates rather than rely on messages shared in group chats.

Dashmottar scholarship for students above Class 12

Students in graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI and similar courses come under the Dashmottar scholarship. This category has a separate schedule.

Student categoryRegistration periodExpected payment
Class 9 to 12 renewalAugust 11 to August 25, 2026October 25 to October 31, 2026
Class 9 to 12 freshAugust 11 to September 21, 2026January 25 to January 31, 2027
Dashmottar renewalSeptember 15 to October 15, 2026January 16 to January 25, 2027
Dashmottar freshSeptember 15 to October 31, 2026January 27 to January 31, 2027

For Dashmottar students, colleges and universities first prepare their institutional data. The concerned university or affiliating agency also checks course fee details before student applications move through the verification process.

Important points before submitting the form

  • Apply only through scholarship.up.gov.in.
  • Renewal students should apply before August 25, 2026 for the Class 9 to 12 scheme.
  • Submit the required hard copy to your school or institution after online registration.
  • Use a bank account in your own name, linked with Aadhaar.
  • Check every entry before final submission.
  • Save the application number, printout and payment details for future reference.
  • Contact your school or institution if the application is not forwarded or an error appears.

Students should keep checking the official portal for changes in dates, correction windows, verification notices and payment updates. A saved application number and a clear printout can make that process much easier.
