Surat Students Secure 16 Top Ranks in CMA Intermediate and Final Exams

Surat has recorded a strong result in the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) CMA Intermediate and Final examinations. The city produced the national topper in the Intermediate exam and placed 16 students among the top 50 ranks across both stages.

Raunak Jain secured All India Rank 1 in the CMA Intermediate examination. Pratham Chaurawala earned All India Rank 5 in the CMA Final examination. Their results placed Surat in the spotlight among accounting students across India.

Raunak Jain tops the Intermediate examination

Raunak Jain led the country in the Intermediate exam with AIR 1. His result was part of a strong showing by students from the CMA Surat South Gujarat Chapter.

Other Surat students who secured ranks in the Intermediate examination were:

  • Harsh Jain: AIR 4
  • Purvansh Baldi: AIR 5
  • Diyakumari Khalasi: AIR 7
  • Shubham Agarwal: AIR 12
  • Parth Agrawal: AIR 13
  • Sikha Parmani: AIR 20
  • Sanket Rungta: AIR 30
  • Manas Sanghvi: AIR 36

With one student at the top and eight others in the top 50, Surat showed the depth of preparation among its CMA Intermediate candidates. Rank 1 is not an easy number to earn. It is the kind of result that makes every mock test, revision plan and late study session feel worth the effort.

Seven Surat students rank in CMA Final

Surat also performed well in the CMA Final examination. Seven students from the city entered the top 50 ranks nationwide.

  • Pratham Chaurawala: AIR 5
  • Nishant Karwa: AIR 19
  • Jill Shah: AIR 20
  • Mahak Jain: AIR 33
  • Kanhaiya Agrawal: AIR 42
  • Priyanshi Mehta: AIR 44
  • Kavish Agrawal: AIR 48

Pratham Chaurawala led the Surat candidates in the Final exam with AIR 5. The performance of the other six students helped the city reach a total of 16 top-50 ranks in the Intermediate and Final examinations combined.

Pass numbers from Surat chapter

Keval Shah, chairperson of the CMA Surat South Gujarat Chapter, shared the examination figures. A total of 994 students from the chapter appeared for the Intermediate examination. Of them, 153 cleared both groups.

In the Final examination, 244 students appeared and 67 cleared both groups. The overall pass percentage was 15% for the Intermediate exam and 27% for the Final exam.

CMA Intermediate 994 153 15%
CMA Final 244 67 27%

Why the result matters for CMA students

The CMA course focuses on areas such as cost accounting, financial reporting, taxation, business laws and management accounting. Students who complete the course can work in finance, costing, audit, budgeting and business planning roles.

The result also gives future candidates a clear picture of the exam challenge. Clearing both groups needs steady study, strong subject knowledge and careful time management. A good rank needs more than knowing the answers. Students must also write them with speed and accuracy.

For Surat, the results add to the city’s growing record in professional education. The 16 top-50 ranks came from both Intermediate and Final levels, which shows strong performance across different stages of the CMA journey.

Keval Shah described the achievement as a significant milestone for the CMA Surat South Gujarat Chapter. The result list includes the national topper, a Final exam rank holder in the top five and several students who placed among India’s leading CMA candidates.
