The SBI PO Prelims result was released on 28 August 2026. A total of 15,802 candidates have been shortlisted for the SBI PO Mains Exam. The Mains exam is scheduled for 12 September 2026. Out of 1,500 Probationary Officer vacancies, only candidates who clear the required prelims cut-off can move to the next stage.
SBI PO Prelims Cut Off 2026
The prelims exam carries 100 marks and has three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. SBI uses the total score for shortlisting candidates. There is no sectional cut-off in the prelims.
Here are the category-wise SBI PO Prelims cut-off marks for 2026:
| Category | Cut Off 2026 | 2025 Cut Off |
|---|---|---|
| General | 66.25 | 66.75 |
| EWS | 64.75 | 64.50 |
| OBC | 66.00 | 65.50 |
| SC | 58.75 | 59.25 |
| ST | 52.75 | 51.50 |
| PwBD | As notified by SBI | Category-wise |
The cut-off can change each year. The exam level, number of test takers, vacancies and marks normalisation all affect the final qualifying marks. In a multi-shift exam, SBI uses normalisation to reduce the impact of differences in paper difficulty.

- Phase II, Mains Exam: Candidates take the objective and descriptive tests.
- Phase III, Psychometric Test and Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear for the psychometric assessment, group exercises and interview.
- Final selection: SBI prepares the final merit list using marks from the Mains and Phase III stages.
SBI PO Cut-Off Trends
The General category cut-off was 59.50 marks in 2022, 59.25 in 2023, 61.75 in 2024 and 66.75 in 2025. This rise shows why candidates should aim above the expected cut-off instead of planning to clear it by one or two marks.
The cut-off for OBC and EWS candidates has also stayed close to the General category in recent cycles. SC and ST cut-offs remain lower, but competition is still high because the number of applicants is large.
