RPSC RAS 2026 Recruitment: How to Apply for 607 Posts

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced the recruitment for the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) Combined Competitive Examination 2026. This is big news for candidates preparing for state services.

The commission has released 607 posts under this recruitment drive. Out of these, 192 posts are for the state service and 415 posts are for subordinate services. If you have been preparing for RAS, this is your chance to step into the civil services.

Age Limit and Basic Requirements

Your age on 1st January 2027 should be a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 40 years. These limits are set to ensure candidates have the right maturity and energy for administrative roles.

You need a bachelor's degree from a recognised university to apply. The commission will check your educational certificates during the selection process.

Application Fees

The application fee depends on your category. For general category candidates and creamy layer OBC/MBC candidates from Rajasthan, the fee is Rs 600.

If you belong to non-creamy layer OBC/MBC, economically weaker section (EWS), or persons with disabilities category, you need to pay Rs 400.

These fees might seem like another expense, but they are standard for competitive exams at this level.

How to Apply Online

The application process is completely online. You need to visit the RPSC website at https://rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in or log in through the SSO portal at https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in.

After logging in, select the Citizen App (G2C) and then choose the Recruitment Portal. You need to complete One Time Registration (OTR) first.

For OTR, you need to provide your name, father's name, date of birth, gender, and secondary exam details. You also need to upload one identity proof from Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter card, or driving licence.

Once you complete OTR, you cannot change any details in your profile. So make sure you enter everything correctly the first time.

After OTR, use your OTR number to fill the online application form for RAS 2026.

What Documents You Need

Keep your documents ready before you start the application. You need your educational certificates, identity proof, category certificate (if applicable), and a recent passport-sized photograph.

Make sure all documents are clear and readable. The commission rejects applications with poor quality documents.

Selection Process

The RAS exam happens in three stages. First comes the preliminary exam, which is objective type. This exam filters out candidates for the next round.

Those who clear the preliminary exam appear for the mains exam. The mains is a written exam with descriptive answers. It tests your knowledge in depth.

Candidates who perform well in mains are called for an interview. The final selection depends on your performance in both mains and interview.

Previous Results Give Hope

The commission released the RAS 2024 results in April this year. The entire process from vacancy announcement to final result took just 1 year, 7 months, and 17 days.

This quick turnaround is good news. It shows the commission is serious about completing recruitments on time. You won't have to wait for years to know your result.

Dinesh Vishnoi topped the RAS 2024 exam. Bhupendra secured 9th rank but scored the highest marks in the interview. Shalu, just 23 years old, cleared the exam in her first attempt.

These success stories prove that with the right preparation, you can crack this exam regardless of your age or number of attempts.

Preparation Tips

Start your preparation early. The syllabus is vast and covers general knowledge, Rajasthan studies, history, geography, economics, and current affairs.

Read newspapers daily. This helps you stay updated with current events, which form a major part of the exam.

Practice previous year question papers. This gives you an idea of the exam pattern and the type of questions asked.

Join a test series if possible. Regular mock tests help you manage time during the actual exam.

Why This Exam Matters

RAS is one of the most prestigious exams at the state level. Selected candidates serve as administrative officers in various departments across Rajasthan.

The job comes with good pay, respect, and the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives. You get to work on policies that affect millions of citizens.

With 607 vacancies, the competition will be tough. But the number of posts is decent enough to give serious candidates a fair chance.

The state government announced a calendar for one lakh recruitment exams in January. The RAS exam is part of this larger recruitment drive. This shows the government's commitment to filling vacant positions.

Stay Alert for Updates

Keep checking the RPSC website regularly. The commission will announce the exact date for the preliminary exam soon.

The initial proposal suggested 3rd May for the preliminary exam, but the commission has not confirmed this date yet.

Set up alerts on your phone for RPSC notifications. Missing important dates can cost you your chance to appear in the exam.

Also, join online groups where candidates discuss updates and preparation strategies. These communities can be helpful during your preparation journey.
