CIL has launched NIRMAN (Noble Initiative for Rewarding Mains Aspirants of National Civil Service Examination) scheme as part of its CSR activities to provide financial support of Rs. 1 lakh each to candidates hailing from its mining districts who qualify the preliminary round of UPSC Civil Service & Forest Service examination 2024.

Nirman Scheme



Every year, around 10 lakh aspirants apply for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). CIL has launched NIRMAN (Noble Initiative for Rewarding Mains Aspirants of National Civil Service Examination) scheme as part of its CSR activities to provide financial support of Rs. 1 lakh each to candidates hailing from its mining districts who qualify the preliminary round of UPSC Civil Service & Forest Service examination 2024. The aim of the scheme is to motivate the future ‘Karmayogis’ for performing well in further stages of the examination, as they will be playing a great role in the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’.


Eligibility Criteria


1. In order to be eligible for this scheme, the candidate should be a permanent resident of any of the mining districts of CIL/ subsidiary companies with family income of less than Rs. 8 Lakhs per annum. Such candidate should have qualified the Civil Service/Forest Service Preliminary Examination 2024 conducted by UPSC and must belong to:

a) Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe

OR

b) Female or Third gender

2. The following categories of candidates are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply under the scheme:

a) Permanent employees of Central Govt./State Govt./UT administration/Public Sector Undertakings

b) Wards/ children of employees of Coal India Limited/any of its subsidiary companies

c) Those not meeting the eligibility criteria at S. No. 1 above


Note: For MCL, this scheme will be applicable for the candidates of four operational districts: Angul,Sundargarh,Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.


Status Update


Application process will start on scheme's dedicated portal from the next day of declaration of result of Civil Service/Forest Service preliminary exam 2024 result by the UPSC. Keep checking this page for further updates and link of the dedicated portal.
