NID DAT 2027 Registration: Dates, Fees, Eligibility and Application Steps

Who can apply for NID DAT 2027?

For B.Des, applicants must have passed or be appearing for Class 12, or an equivalent examination, in any stream. M.Des applicants generally need a recognised bachelor’s degree. The final rules, age limits and accepted qualifications will appear in the official handbook.

The expected age cut-offs may vary by category. For B.Des, the expected minimum birth date is July 1, 2006, for General candidates. The date may be July 1, 2003, for SC, ST and OBC candidates, and July 1, 2001, for PwD candidates. For M.Des, the expected cut-offs are July 1, 1995, for General candidates, July 1, 1992, for SC, ST and OBC candidates, and July 1, 1990, for PwD candidates.

NID DAT 2027 application fee

The expected fee for one discipline is listed below. The final amount may change after the official notification.

• General, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL: INR 3,000
• Female candidates, except SC, ST and PwD candidates: INR 2,000
• SC and ST candidates: INR 1,500
• PwD and third-gender candidates: INR 500
• Overseas candidates: fee as stated in the official notice

Applicants choosing two disciplines may need to pay a higher fee. Payment can be made through UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking. Save the payment receipt after the transaction.

After fee payment, some details cannot be changed. These may include the selected programme, name, date of birth, registered email ID and mobile number. NID DAT 2027 exam pattern

The admission process has two stages. DAT Prelims tests design awareness, visual thinking, creativity and problem-solving. Shortlisted candidates move to DAT Mains, which may include a Studio Test and interview. The same broad structure applies to B.Des and M.Des, but the questions and tasks can differ.
