Step by Step Application Process
Filling the NEET PG application form takes about 20 to 30 minutes if you have all documents ready. Here is how you can apply:
First, visit the official website natboard.edu.in. Go to the examination menu and click on NEET PG. Now, click on the registration link.
Complete the registration by providing your name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, and password. You will receive OTPs on your mobile and email for verification.
Once registered, start filling the application form. Upload your recent passport-size photograph (not older than three months), signature, and thumb impression. Make sure your photograph is in JPG or JPEG format and less than 80 KB in size.
During the process, you will need to capture a real-time photograph using your webcam. This is mandatory. The webcam photo and your uploaded photo should look similar to avoid issues during verification.
Select three preferred test states. Your first preference must be the state where your correspondence address is located. The other two can be neighbouring states.
Enter your Aadhaar card details. Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for NEET PG 2026 registration. You cannot change your Aadhaar number after final submission.
Review your form carefully before making the payment. Once you submit the form and pay the fee, you will receive a confirmation message via email and SMS.
Documents You Need to Upload
Keep these documents ready before you start filling the form. Your photograph should be recent (within three months), taken against a plain white background. Do not wear caps, spectacles, or stethoscopes in the photo. Your ears and shoulders should be visible with a neutral facial expression.
Your signature should be clear and in the prescribed format. You will also need to upload your thumb impression as per the guidelines provided.
Important Points to Remember
This year, NBEMS has introduced some new rules. The test city will not be allotted on a first come, first served basis. Applying early does not give you any advantage in getting your preferred exam centre.
Some details in your application form cannot be changed later, even during the correction window. These include your name, nationality, test state preference, mobile number, Aadhaar details, correspondence address, and email ID. Double-check these fields before final submission.
The exam pattern has also changed this year. The number of questions has been reduced from 200 to 180. However, the exam duration of 3.5 hours and the marking scheme remain the same. You get 4 marks for each correct answer and lose 1 mark for each wrong answer.
Final year students can apply for NEET PG 2026, but they must complete their internship on or before September 30, 2026. Make sure you meet this requirement before applying.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Many students rush to fill the form without reading the instructions. This leads to errors that can cause problems later. Take your time to read the information bulletin and understand each requirement.
Do not use selfies or old photographs. The photograph should be professional and recent. Wearing spectacles or caps can lead to rejection during verification.
Check your spelling, especially in your name and address fields. A small spelling mistake can create huge problems during counselling and admission.
Do not wait until the last day to apply. Technical issues can occur, and the website might be slow due to heavy traffic. Apply at least a few days before the deadline.
What Happens After Registration?
After the registration window closes on July 21, NBEMS will open the form correction window from July 25 to 28. During this period, you can edit some fields in your application. However, you cannot change non-editable details like your name or Aadhaar number.
A second correction window, called the selective edit window, will be available from July 31 to August 10. This gives you another chance to make limited changes to your form.
The authority will announce city allotment on August 11, 2026. You will get to know which centre you have been allotted for the exam. Download your admit card on August 27, 2026. The admit card will contain your exam centre details, reporting time, and other instructions.
Can You Fill Multiple Forms?
No, you are allowed to fill and submit only one application form. Filling multiple forms will lead to cancellation of your candidature. Make sure all information in your single form is accurate and complete.
What If You Find a Mistake After Submission?
If you find an error after submitting your form, you will have to wait for the correction window. You can make changes only to editable fields during this period. That is why it is crucial to check everything twice before final submission.
Your candidature will be cancelled if the information you provide does not match during the verification process. Be honest and accurate while filling the form.
The NEET PG 2026 exam will be held in 179 cities across India. The complete list of exam cities is available in the information bulletin on the official website.
If you have any doubts, read the frequently asked questions on the NBEMS website or contact their helpdesk. Do not rely on unofficial sources for information.
