NEET PG 2026 Answer Key: Download Steps, Score Calculation and Objections

NBEMS is expected to release the provisional NEET PG 2026 answer key and response sheet on its official website, natboard.edu.in. The answer key will help candidates check their answers and estimate their probable scores before the result is announced.

The provisional answer key will contain the answers to questions asked in the NEET PG exam. Candidates can compare it with their response sheet, which shows the answers they marked during the test. This small exercise can answer a big question: “Did I do well enough for my target rank?”

NEET PG 2026 answer key release update

As per the latest update, NBEMS is expected to release the NEET PG 2026 answer key on September 10. However, the board has not confirmed the exact release time. Candidates should rely on the official NBEMS website and public notices for the final update.

The NEET PG 2026 result is expected by September 30, according to the available schedule. The answer key may be released before the result, but candidates should wait for an official notice before making travel or counselling plans.

How to download the NEET PG answer key PDF

Candidates can download the provisional answer key from the NBEMS website. No login details are expected to be needed for the answer key PDF.

  1. Visit natboard.edu.in.
  2. Open the Public Notice or Notice section.
  3. Find the link for the NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key.
  4. Click the link to open the PDF.
  5. Download the file and save a copy for later use.

Keep your application details nearby in case NBEMS provides a separate login link for the response sheet or objection form. Websites can also become slow when thousands of candidates check the same update. The internet, like an exam hall fan, may choose the worst time to stop cooperating.

NEET PG 2026 response sheet

The response sheet is a digital record of the answers marked by a candidate. NBEMS is expected to provide it along with the answer key. Candidates will likely need to log in through the applicant portal to view or download it.

After downloading both files, compare each response with the answer key. Check the question number, the answer marked by you and the answer listed by NBEMS. Do not compare answers from memory alone, as exam-day memory can be less reliable than it feels.

How to calculate the probable NEET PG score

NEET PG follows a simple marking scheme:

  • Four marks for each correct answer
  • One mark deducted for each incorrect answer
  • No marks for an unanswered question

Use this formula to calculate your probable score:

Probable score = (Correct answers × 4) − (Incorrect answers × 1)

For example, if a candidate has 120 correct answers and 30 incorrect answers, the estimated score will be 450 marks. The calculation is based on the answer key available at that time. The official score may change if NBEMS revises an answer or accepts an objection.

Can candidates challenge the provisional answer key?

NBEMS is expected to open an objection window for the provisional answer key. Candidates who find an error should read the official notice carefully before submitting a challenge. The notice may mention the objection fee, deadline, required proof and the correct method of submission.

Use a standard medical reference or an accepted source to support an objection. A challenge without clear evidence may not be considered. Candidates should also save the objection receipt and payment proof until the process ends.

What happens after the objection process?

NBEMS will review the challenges received during the objection window. It may accept or reject them after checking the submitted evidence. The board can then issue a final answer key. The result and rank will be prepared using the final answer key and the official marking process.

For this reason, the provisional score should be treated as an estimate, not a confirmed result. Coaching institute answer keys can help with early analysis, but they may contain errors because many are based on memory-based questions. The official answer key and result remain the reliable sources.

NEET PG qualifying percentile

The qualifying percentile listed for NEET PG is different for each category:

CategoryQualifying percentile
General or Unreserved50th percentile
SC, ST and OBC40th percentile
General PwBD45th percentile

These qualifying requirements do not guarantee a seat. Admission also depends on rank, category, choice filling, seat availability and the counselling rules issued by the Medical Counselling Committee and other authorities.

What candidates should do now

  • Check the NBEMS website for the official notice.
  • Download the answer key and response sheet when released.
  • Calculate the probable score using the correct marking scheme.
  • Check the objection rules and deadline.
  • Keep copies of the answer key, response sheet and objection receipt.
  • Wait for the final answer key and official result before confirming your admission options.
