NEET 2027 Exam Pattern: What You Need to Know
The NEET 2027 exam pattern is based on the latest official NEET UG structure. The paper consists of 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, for a total of 720 marks. Candidates get 3 hours 20 minutes (200 minutes) to complete the exam.
The marking scheme awards 4 marks for every correct answer, deducts 1 mark for every incorrect answer (negative marking), and gives 0 marks for each unattempted question. Physics and Chemistry have 45 questions each totalling 180 marks per subject. Biology (Botany plus Zoology) has 90 questions totalling 360 marks.

Previous year NEET question papers are one of the best resources for understanding the exam pattern, difficulty level and important topics. NCERT textbooks are the foundation of NEET preparation. A large number of questions in NEET, especially in Biology and Chemistry, are directly taken from NCERT textbooks. Even Physics numerical problems often use concepts explained in NCERT.
Read NCERT textbooks thoroughly at least three times. The first reading should be for understanding concepts. The second reading should focus on making notes and highlighting important points.
