- Provisional seat allotment for Round 1 will be displayed on August 2, 2026.
- Candidates can accept their allotted seat between August 3 and 5, 2026.
- Reporting to the allotted institute also falls between August 3 and 5, 2026.
So even without the final merit list in hand, you should start thinking about your college and branch preferences. Do not wait for the last date to start filling choices. Give yourself time to research and compare options.
Tie-Breaking: What Happens If Two Students Have the Same Score
Ties happen more often than you would think, especially with lakhs of students appearing for the exam. The CET Cell has a clear order to break such ties:
- Higher marks in Mathematics at CET
- Higher marks in Physics at CET
- Higher marks in Chemistry at CET
- Higher combined percentage in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the board exam
- Higher percentage in Mathematics at HSC or 10+2
- Higher percentage in Physics at HSC or 10+2
- Higher aggregate percentage at HSC or 10+2

Seat Acceptance Fee: The Numbers You Need to Know
