MCC has released the NEET MDS Round 2 counselling schedule, covering registration, choice filling, seat allotment, results and institute joining dates.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Round 2 counselling schedule for NEET MDS admissions 2026. Candidates seeking admission through the 50% All India Quota (AIQ), deemed universities, central universities and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) institutes can take part in this round.
The registration window opened on September 15, 2026. Candidates must complete registration by 3:00 PM on September 19. The payment window will remain open until 6:00 PM on the same day. Both deadlines follow server time, so candidates should avoid waiting until the last hour. Servers are not known for their kindness during exam season.

What candidates need to do
Candidates who want to participate in Round 2 must complete each step within the given time. Missing one stage can affect participation in the next stage of the process.
1. Complete registration and payment
Visit the official MCC counselling website and complete the Round 2 registration form. Check all details before submitting the form. Candidates must also pay the required counselling fee by the payment deadline.
Registration closes at 3:00 PM on September 19, while payment closes at 6:00 PM. These are separate deadlines. Completing the form without paying the fee may leave the registration incomplete.
2. Fill in course and college choices
Choice filling will be open from September 16 to September 21. Candidates should list colleges and MDS courses in the order they prefer. Review the seat matrix, institute details and course options before adding choices.
More choices may give candidates more options during allotment. However, every choice should be made with care. A long list is useful only when it reflects the candidate's real preferences.
3. Lock the choices
Choice locking will start at 6:00 PM on September 20 and close at 10:00 AM on September 21. Candidates should lock their choices within this window.
Do not assume that filled choices will lock on their own. After locking, check whether the portal shows the correct status. It is also wise to save or print the submitted choices for future reference.
4. Check the seat allotment result
MCC will process seat allotment from September 21 to September 22. The Round 2 result is scheduled for September 23.
After the result is published, candidates should download the allotment letter and read the instructions. The letter may include details about the reporting centre, documents, fee payment and joining process.
5. Report to the allotted institute
Candidates who receive a seat must report and join between September 24 and September 30. They should carry the documents listed in the official counselling instructions, along with copies and recent photographs where required.
Before travelling, candidates should confirm the institute address, reporting hours and joining requirements. They should also keep proof of registration, payment, choice submission and seat allotment. A folder on the phone is useful, but a paper file can save the day when a battery does not.
