MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 will begin on August 5, 2026, for students seeking MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical seats. The Medical Counselling Committee will conduct the process through mcc.nic.in.
The counselling covers seats under the All India Quota, deemed universities, central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and selected central nursing institutes. MCC NEET Counselling 2026 Round 1 dates
The Round 1 process will run through August 17. The registration and fee payment window is listed from August 5 to 12. Choice filling will remain open from August 6 to 13.

Which seats come under MCC counselling?
MCC conducts counselling for 15% of government MBBS and BDS seats under the All India Quota in participating states. It also handles 100% of seats in deemed universities and central universities that join the process.
The counselling includes seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, the University of Delhi, ESIC institutions and other listed institutes. For deemed universities, MCC covers all seats, including eligible NRI seats.
State counselling bodies handle the remaining government seats and private college seats in their states. MCC counselling and state counselling are separate processes. A candidate may need to register for both, based on the seats and colleges they want.
Who can register for NEET UG counselling?
- The candidate must qualify NEET UG 2026.
- The candidate must meet the eligibility rules set by the National Medical Commission and MCC.
- The candidate must meet the qualifying percentile for their category.
- The candidate must complete registration within the given dates.

How to register on mcc.nic.in
- Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
- Open the UG medical counselling 2026 link.
- Click on “New Registration”.
- Enter your NEET roll number, application number, name, mother’s name and date of birth.
- Check the details and create a password.
- Log in with the new credentials.
- Pay the counselling fee and security deposit online.
- Fill in your college and course choices.
- Lock the choices before the deadline.
- Download the registration slip and payment receipt.
Check every detail before submission. A small spelling error can create a large headache during document verification.

The registration fee is non-refundable. The security deposit rules depend on the counselling round and seat type. Read the payment instructions on the portal before making the transaction.

Important changes in the 2026 process
MCC has introduced changes to make the process easier for candidates. Students who want a seat upgrade will not need to complete mandatory physical reporting in the same way as before. MCC has also added an online resignation facility. Candidates can use the MCC portal to resign from an allotted seat, as per the rules for that round.
The reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities has increased from 3% to 5%. Other reported reservations include 10% for GEN-EWS, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC-NCL. Candidates should upload valid certificates in the required format.
What happens after registration?
The process has five main stages:

- Upgradation or movement of vacant seats in later rounds
Round 2 is scheduled from August 24 to September 2. Round 3 is planned for September 10 to 18. The stray vacancy round is scheduled from September 28 to October 3. The academic session for the 2026-27 batch is set to begin on September 8.
