MAH CET 2026 Counselling: Registration Deadline and Process Explained

If you took the MAH CET exam for MBA or MMS admission, the counselling clock is ticking. The registration window opened on July 2 and closes on July 12 at 5 PM. Miss this date, and you miss your shot at a seat this year. So let's break down what you need to do, step by step.

What is MAH CET Counselling?

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra runs this counselling process to fill MBA and MMS seats in over 300 colleges. Think of it as the bridge between your exam score and your actual seat in a classroom. Colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, and PUMBA are part of this list, and getting in requires clearing specific cutoffs.

Who Can Apply?

Before you rush to fill the form, check if you tick these boxes:

  • You need a valid MAH CET 2026 score to apply under the state quota.
  • If you have scores from CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, or ATMA, you can apply under the All India category.
  • Your graduation score should be at least 50%. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, this drops to 45%.

How to Register: A Simple Walkthrough

The process is not complicated, but skipping a step can cost you. Here is what to do:

  • Head to the CAP 2026 website and select the MBA/MMS option.
  • Click on Candidate Login and enter your details.
  • This takes you to the CAP form for 2026.
  • Fill in your information and pick colleges based on your score and past cutoff trends.
  • Upload the required documents and hit submit.

Once you register, you get a unique application ID by email. Keep that handy, you will need it throughout the process.

Registration Fees: Who Pays What

Here is where things get a bit specific:

  • General category candidates pay INR 1,500.
  • Reserved category candidates pay INR 1,300.
  • NRI, PIO, and OCI applicants pay INR 10,000.
  • If you appeared for the MAH CET exam itself, good news, you skip the registration fee entirely.

This fee applies mainly to those entering through CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, or ATMA scores.

Document Verification: Don't Skip This Step

Verification runs from July 3 to July 13. You have two options here: e-scrutiny or physical scrutiny.

For e-scrutiny, upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, Aadhaar, and academic certificates directly through the portal. No need to visit any centre for this.

If you prefer physical scrutiny, log in and book a slot at a facilitation centre near you. Carry your original documents, and arrive within your assigned time slot. Showing up late might mean losing your chance at verification, so set an alarm if you need to.

Double-check every uploaded file before the window closes. Blurry or missing documents can delay your admission, and once the window shuts, there is no second chance to fix it.

The Complete Timeline

ActivityDate
Registration and document uploadJuly 2 to July 12, up to 5 PM
Document verification and confirmationJuly 3 to July 13, up to 5 PM
Provisional merit listJuly 15
Grievance submission windowJuly 16 to July 18, up to 5 PM
Final merit listJuly 20

What Happens After Seat Allotment?

Once the seat matrix comes out, you will see how many seats each college has left. This helps you decide whether to lock in your choice or wait for the next round. If you get a seat, you need to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of INR 1,000 to confirm it.

After payment, visit the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) to confirm your admission online, then head to your allotted college to finish the enrollment formalities. Simple, but skipping any of these steps can put your seat at risk.

A Quick Note on Choices

You can list anywhere from 1 to 300 institute-course combinations in your CAP form. Once you submit it, changes are not allowed, so take your time picking colleges based on your score and previous years' cutoffs. Rushing this part could mean settling for a college that was not really your first choice.

With the registration deadline just around the corner, this is the time to double-check your details, confirm your document uploads, and finalise your college list. The counselling process moves fast once it starts, so staying on top of each date works in your favour.
