JEECUP 2026 Round 2 Seat Allotment: Check Result, Dates And Documents

The wait is over. The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh has released the JEECUP 2026 round 2 seat allotment result. If you filled your choices between July 7 and 9, this is the moment you check your login for that all-important college name.

Think of it like a lucky draw, except your rank and category decide the outcome, not luck. Let's break down what you need to know and do next.

What Is the JEECUP Round 2 Seat Allotment?

The council looked at your rank, your choice list, your category and the seats still open across polytechnic institutes in UP. Based on this, it matched candidates to colleges and courses. In total, 1,45,564 seats are up for grabs, and 36,855 of them sit in the open category.

Your allotment order carries your name, your allotted branch and the institute name. Keep it safe. You will need it at every step from here.

How to Check Your JEECUP Seat Allotment

The process takes less than five minutes. Here is how you do it:

  • Visit the official JEECUP counselling portal, jeecup.admissions.nic.in.
  • Log in with your application number and password.
  • Click on the seat allotment result link.
  • Check your allotted institute and course carefully.
  • Download the allotment letter and save a copy.

Print it too. Institutes love paper, even in 2026.

Miss the reporting window and your seat goes back into the pool. Set a reminder on your phone. Set two.

Freeze, Float or Slide: What Do These Mean?

Once you see your allotted seat, the portal gives you three choices under 'Decision Making'.

  • Freeze: You lock the seat and stop the counselling process for yourself.
  • Float: You accept the seat for now but stay in the running for a better one in the next round.
  • Slide: You move up to a higher preference within your current allotment cycle.

Pick based on how confident you feel about your rank and remaining rounds. There are five rounds in total this year, so you do have room to adjust.

Documents You Must Carry for Verification

Before you head to the district help centre or your allotted institute, pack these:

  • JEECUP admit card
  • Rank card
  • Seat allotment order
  • Filled application form
  • 10th and 12th mark sheets
  • Domicile certificate
  • Reservation or category certificate
  • Two passport-size photographs
  • Self-attested photocopies of everything above

If you fall under the PwD category, add a valid disability certificate showing at least 40 percent impairment. Bring originals along with the copies, since both get checked before your admission is confirmed.

Reservation Quota at a Glance

JEECUP counselling follows a fixed reservation structure across all participating polytechnics:

  • EWS: 10 percent
  • OBC-NCL: 27 percent
  • SC: 21 percent
  • ST: 2 percent
  • PwD: 5 percent, with a minimum 40 percent disability requirement

About the JEECUP Cutoff

The council will publish branch-wise cutoffs for every institute on its website. These numbers show the opening and closing ranks at which admission was offered for a particular college and course. Since cutoffs depend on rank, category and seat availability, they only become clear once each round's results are out. The round 1 cutoff is already live, so you can use it as a rough guide while you wait for round 2 figures.

What Happens After Fee Payment?

Once you freeze or slide into a seat, head to the 'Fee Payment' section on the portal and clear the counselling and security fee. This step confirms your intent to join. Skip it and your allotted seat gets released to someone else in the queue. After payment, report in person for document verification, and only then does your admission get confirmed for the diploma programme.

Stay logged in, keep your documents ready, and treat every deadline on that table above as non-negotiable. Polytechnic seats fill up fast once round 3 opens, so acting quickly during round 2 puts you in a stronger position for the course and college you actually want.
