  6. Download it and take a printout

Make sure you check that the QR code and barcode are clearly visible on your admit card. You will need these on exam day.

What to Bring on Exam Day

Don't forget these important documents:

  • Your printed admit card with clear QR code and barcode
  • The same photo ID you uploaded during registration (as mentioned on your admit card)
  • A valid proof of identity

Without these documents, you won't be allowed to enter the exam centre. Double check everything the night before your exam.

About the Exam City Slip

NTA already released the exam city slip earlier. If you haven't downloaded it yet, you can get it from the official website. You need your application number, password or date of birth, and security PIN to access it.

The city slip tells you which city your exam centre is in. The admit card gives you the exact centre address and other details.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Read the instructions on your admit card carefully. Also, pay attention to the subject-specific instructions in the question paper on exam day. Following these instructions is important.

If you face any problem downloading your admit card, don't panic. Contact NTA at 011-40759000 or send an email to jeemain@nta.ac.in. The support team will help you sort out the issue.

For the latest updates, keep visiting the official NTA websites: www.nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Tips for the Days Before Your Exam

You have your admit card now. Here's what to do next:

Check your exam centre location in advance. If possible, visit the centre a day before to know the route and travel time. This will help you avoid last minute stress.

Prepare a checklist of items to carry. Pack your bag the night before. Include your admit card, photo ID, a transparent water bottle, and any permitted stationery.

Get enough sleep the night before. A well-rested mind performs better. Avoid staying up late for last minute revision.

Reach the exam centre at least 90 minutes before the exam starts. This gives you time for security checks and finding your seat without rushing.

What Happens After the Exam

After you complete JEE Main 2026 Session 1, NTA will release the answer keys. You can check your responses and raise objections if needed. The final result will come out after considering all valid objections.

Based on your score, you can apply to various engineering colleges through JoSAA counselling for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. You can also use your JEE Main score to apply to private engineering colleges.

If you are aiming for IITs, remember that your JEE Main score determines your eligibility for JEE Advanced. The top 2.5 lakh candidates (approximately) qualify for JEE Advanced, which is the gateway to IITs.

Stay Updated and Stay Calm

Over 1.4 million students registered for JEE Main 2026 Session 1. This is the highest ever registration for the exam. The competition is tough, but remember that you have prepared for this moment.

Trust your preparation. Stay calm and focused. Believe in yourself. All the hard work you put in will show in your performance.

Download your admit card today if you haven't already. Verify all the details. Prepare well for the exam day. Good luck with your JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam.
