HAL Recruitment 2026: Apply for 120 Trainee Posts

Good news for engineering graduates hunting for a solid government job. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has opened applications for 120 Trainee posts in 2026. If you have an engineering degree and want to work on aircraft, defence systems, and cutting edge tech, this one is worth your attention.

The online application process began on 29 July 2026. You have time till 14 August 2026, 2:00 PM, to submit your form on the official HAL careers page. So mark your calendar, because government job deadlines wait for no one.

What Are the Posts?

HAL is hiring for two roles this year:

  • Design Trainee (DT) - 60 posts: These roles sit in HAL's Research and Development centres. Candidates from Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, and Metallurgy branches can apply.
  • Management Trainee (MT) - 60 posts: These roles belong to Production, Overhaul, and Service divisions. Eligible branches include Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Production, Metallurgy, and Computer Science.

Once selected, you could get posted to HAL units in Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Hyderabad, Nashik, Koraput, Barrackpore, Lucknow, Kanpur, or Korwa. That's a fair spread across the country, so pack your bags accordingly.

Who Can Apply?

Here's what you need to check before you fill the form:

Education

You need a B.E. or B.Tech degree in the relevant branch with at least 70% marks. For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the minimum requirement drops to 60%.

Final year students, don't worry. You can apply too, as long as you have your degree certificate ready by the time of the interview.

Age Limit

As on 14 August 2026, candidates in the UR and EWS categories must not be older than 28 years. Reserved category candidates (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwBD) get the standard age relaxation as per government rules.

Stipend During Training

During the training period, selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of Rs 50,000, along with variable DA and other allowances. Not a bad deal for a training phase.

Selection Process

HAL will select candidates through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Personal Interview. The written exam is planned for 5 and 6 September 2026. So if you apply now, you have roughly a month to prepare. Time to dust off those engineering textbooks.

Application Fee

General, OBC, and EWS candidates need to pay Rs 500 as the application fee. SC, ST, PwBD candidates, and existing HAL employees are fully exempt from this fee.

How to Apply

Follow these steps to submit your application:

  1. Go to the official HAL website, hal-india.co.in
  2. Click on the 'Careers' tab
  3. Look for advertisement number HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026
  4. Register using your mobile number and email ID
  5. Fill in your details and submit the form before 14 August 2026, 2:00 PM

Keep your documents ready before you start, including your marksheets, category certificate if applicable, and a scanned photo and signature. This saves you from last minute scrambling when the site gets busy near the deadline, which it always does.

Why This Opportunity Matters

HAL is one of India's largest aerospace and defence companies. A trainee role here isn't just a job, it's a chance to work on projects that matter for the country. Add a decent stipend, structured training, and postings across major cities, and this becomes one of the better options on the table for fresh engineering graduates this year.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, there's no reason to sit on the fence. Applications close soon, so get your documents in order and submit your form well before the deadline.
