New GATE 2027 paper: Robotics and Automation

IIT Madras has added Robotics and Automation as a new GATE 2027 test paper. The paper may interest students who want to study areas such as industrial robots, control systems, sensors, automation and intelligent machines.

The institute has also revised the syllabus for some existing papers. Candidates should read the official information brochure and check the paper-wise syllabus before selecting a test paper. The syllabus will help you plan your preparation and avoid studying topics that do not carry marks in your paper.

Who can apply for GATE 2027?

There is no age limit for GATE 2027. Candidates who are studying in the third year or higher of an approved undergraduate degree can apply. Graduates can also apply if they hold a degree in a relevant field.

Eligible areas include:

  • Engineering and Technology
  • Architecture
  • Science
  • Commerce
  • Arts

Students must check the official eligibility rules for their degree and year of study. Meeting the basic education requirement does not remove the need to select the correct paper or upload valid documents.

GATE 2027 application fee

The application fee is Rs 1,000 for female candidates and candidates from the SC, ST and PwD categories. The fee for other candidates is Rs 2,000. A late fee applies to applications submitted after September 27.

Applicants can pay through UPI, net banking, credit card or debit card. Before paying, check the details on the form. A small spelling error in your name or an incorrect paper choice can create trouble later.
