FMGE October 2026 Edit Window, Exam Pattern and Result Dates

Check the FMGE October 2026 edit deadline, admit card date, exam pattern, passing marks and expected result timeline.

FMGE October 2026 Edit Window, Exam Pattern and Result Dates

The final selective edit window for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) October 2026 session is now open. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has given candidates one last chance to update key details in their application.

Candidates who need to correct their photograph, signature or left-hand thumb impression can use the edit facility until October 19, 2026. This is the final selective edit window, so applicants should not wait until the last day. Exam portals have a habit of becoming busiest when everyone remembers the deadline at the same time.

FMGE October 2026 important dates

Event Date
Final selective edit window October 19, 2026
FMGE October 2026 exam October 31, 2026
Admit card release October 28, 2026, as scheduled
Result declaration By November 30, 2026

The dates listed above are based on the FMGE October 2026 schedule. Candidates should check the official NBEMS website for any notice or change before making travel plans.

What can candidates edit?

The final edit window is meant for selected details only. For this session, candidates can correct or replace their:

  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Left-hand thumb impression

Before uploading a file, check the image size, format and quality rules in the FMGE information bulletin. The photograph should be clear and recent. The signature must be easy to read. The thumb impression should not appear blurred or cut off.

After making a change, preview the form and save the final version. Candidates should also download the confirmation page for their records. A screenshot is useful too, but the downloaded form is the safer document to keep.

FMGE October 2026 admit card

The FMGE October 2026 admit card is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2026. Candidates can download it from the official NBEMS website by using their application number and password or date of birth, as required on the portal.

The admit card will carry important details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam centre, date, reporting time and instructions. Check every detail as soon as the admit card becomes available. If the name, photograph or other key information looks wrong, contact NBEMS through the official help channels.

Carry the admit card and a valid original photo identity proof to the exam centre. Read the reporting instructions with care. Reaching the centre early is a simple way to avoid a stressful start to a long exam day.

FMGE exam pattern

FMGE is a computer-based test with 300 multiple-choice questions. The exam is split into two papers. Each paper has 150 questions and the duration is 150 minutes.

  • Mode: Computer-based test
  • Language: English
  • Total questions: 300
  • Total marks: 300
  • Papers: Two
  • Questions in each paper: 150
  • Time for each paper: 150 minutes
  • Negative marking: No negative marking

The exam tests subjects from the medical curriculum, including pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical areas. Candidates should use the official syllabus and information bulletin to plan their revision. Since there is no negative marking, time management and careful attempts matter. Still, random guessing is not a study plan, even if it feels brave for five seconds.

FMGE passing marks and result date

Under the standard FMGE qualifying rule, a candidate must score at least 150 marks out of 300 to pass. Candidates should confirm the rule in the official bulletin for the October 2026 session before the exam.

NBEMS is expected to release the FMGE October 2026 result by November 30, 2026. The result is likely to be published online. Candidates can check it using their roll number and other login details. The scorecard will show the marks and qualifying status.

Until the result is released, candidates should keep their application details, admit card and identity documents safe. They should also monitor the NBEMS website for updates on result access, pass certificates and the next steps for registration with the relevant medical authority.
