How to Download CUET UG 2026 Answer Key
Getting your hands on the answer key is simple. Here's what you need to do:
- Visit the official website at cuet.nta.nic.in
- Look for the tab that says 'Provisional CUET UG 2026 Answer Key'
- Enter your application number
- Type in your password
- Your profile will appear on screen
- Click on the required tab to view the answer key or response sheet
- Download the PDF file
- Check your responses and work out your score
You will need two things to log in: your application number and password. Keep these details ready so you can access the answer key the moment it drops.
What You Get With the Answer Key
NTA will release two documents together. First, the provisional answer key that shows the correct answers for all questions. Second, your recorded response sheet that displays the answers you marked during the exam.
Having both documents helps you compare what you answered against what was correct. This way, you can estimate your score before the official results come out.
Challenging the Answer Key
Think an answer in the key is wrong? You can raise an objection. NTA gives you about two days from the release date to submit your challenges.
Here's the process:
- Click on 'View/Challenge Answer Keys' on the portal
- Select the questions you want to challenge
- Upload supporting documents as a single PDF file
- Pay INR 200 for each question you challenge
- Submit before the deadline ends
The fee is INR 200 per question. This amount is non-refundable. You can pay through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
Make sure your supporting documents are solid. Weak proof reduces the chance of your objection being accepted. Double check the question ID and answer ID before you submit. Many students make mistakes here.
Calculating Your Expected Score
Once you have the answer key and your response sheet, you can work out your probable score. The marking scheme is straightforward:
- You get five marks for each correct answer
- You lose one mark for each wrong answer
- Unanswered questions carry no penalty
Count your correct answers and multiply by five. Then subtract one mark for every wrong answer. The number you get is your estimated score.
What Happens After Objections Close
NTA reviews all the challenges that students submit. If your objection is valid and supported by proper evidence, NTA may accept it. Based on all objections received, the agency prepares the final answer key.
The final answer key is what NTA uses to calculate everyone's scores. This key is considered absolute. No further changes happen after this.
When to Expect CUET UG 2026 Results
Results should arrive in the first week of July 2026. That's the expected timeline based on how things usually work. NTA has not announced an official date yet, but this is the window most experts predict.
You will be able to download your scorecard from the official portal using your login details. The scorecard shows your sectional scores and total marks.

Check the official website of each university you're interested in. Counselling schedules usually start in the third week of July. Registration, choice filling, and seat allotment happen in rounds.
What to Keep Ready
Have these details on hand so you can act fast when the answer key drops:
- Your application number
- Your password or date of birth
- Registered email ID and mobile number
- Supporting documents if you plan to challenge any answers
The challenge window stays open for just two days. If you wait too long, you might miss it.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Many students make these errors during the objection process:
- Uploading weak or incomplete supporting documents
- Mixing up question IDs and answer IDs
- Missing the deadline for submitting objections
