AC Team

If you are appearing for CUET UG in 2027, you probably have one question on repeat: when exactly does everything happen? NTA has not released the official notification yet, but the pattern from the last few years gives us a fairly reliable picture. Here is everything you need to plan your year around.
CUET 2027 Expected Dates
NTA has kept the CUET UG schedule fairly consistent since 2022. The exam window has settled into May-June, and the months around it follow a predictable rhythm. Here is the rough shape of the year ahead.
- Feb-Mar: Notification and registration
- Apr: Correction window and admit card
- May-Jun: Exam dates across multiple shifts
- Jul: Results and counselling

NTA usually gives short notice once the notification drops, and the registration window rarely stays open for more than four to five weeks. Bookmark cuet.nta.nic.in and check it weekly starting January 2027. Missing the deadline means waiting a full year, and nobody wants that.
Registration Process, Step by Step
The whole process happens online, and it is simpler than it looks once you break it into steps.
Step 1: Create Your NTA Account
Go to cuet.nta.nic.in and click New Registration. Use a personal email and phone number you will actually check for the next several months. Your school email that gets deactivated in April is not the move.
Step 2: Fill the Application Form
- Personal details: name exactly as on your Class 10 marksheet, date of birth, category, address
- Academic details: board, year of passing, school details, qualifying marks
- Paper selection: languages, domain subjects, General Test. Check university requirements before you lock this in, since changes later are limited
- Exam centre preferences: pick four cities, not just one
- Medium of exam: choose your preferred question paper language
Step 3: Upload Documents
- Passport-size photograph (10-200 KB, JPEG)
- Scanned signature (4-30 KB, JPEG)
- Category certificate, if applicable
- PwD certificate, if applicable
Step 4: Pay the Fee
| Category | Fee (Expected) |
|---|---|
| General / OBC | Rs. 750 - 900 |
| SC / ST / PwD | Rs. 350 - 450 |
| Third Gender | Rs. 350 - 450 |
| Outside India | Rs. 3,500 - 4,000 |
Step 5: Download Confirmation
Print the confirmation page once payment goes through. This acts as proof of registration until the admit card arrives separately, closer to the exam.
Admit Card Details
The admit card releases one to two weeks before your exam. Print it on A4 paper and check every detail: name, photo, exam centre, date, shift, paper codes. If something is wrong, reach NTA through the correction window or helpline right away rather than hoping it sorts itself out on exam day. Carry the printout along with a valid photo ID like Aadhaar, passport, or school ID. If you can, visit your exam centre a day early. CUET runs across hundreds of centres, and hunting for yours on the actual day adds stress you do not need.
Exam Day Schedule and Shifts
| Shift | Reporting Time | Gate Closing |
|---|---|---|
| Shift 1 (Morning) | 7:30 AM | 8:15 AM |
| Shift 2 (Afternoon) | 1:30 PM | 2:15 PM |
Carry: printed admit card, valid photo ID, two passport-size photos, PwD certificate if applicable, transparent water bottle, simple analog watch.
Leave at home: phones, smartwatches, calculators, bags, wallets, books, and notes. Yes, calculators are banned even for Maths.
Result Declaration and Counselling
CUET results come as percentile scores, not raw marks, since NTA normalizes across shifts. Once results land, each university runs its own counselling. Delhi University uses CSAS, where you fill college and programme preferences and get allotted seats across multiple rounds. JNU and BHU each run their own portals, and every other participating university has its own process from June onwards. Register on these portals as soon as they open rather than waiting for your result. Many open admissions before scores are out, and being ready to fill preferences the moment results drop can save you a round or two of waiting.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will CUET 2027 registration start?
Expect late February 2027 on cuet.nta.nic.in, open for about four to five weeks.
Can I change my subject selection after registration?
Only during the correction window, typically three to five days after the deadline. Choose carefully the first time.
What if my CUET exam clashes with board exams?
NTA schedules CUET after most boards finish, usually by April. This clash has not happened historically.
How many days does CUET run over?
Around 10-15 days across multiple phases. You only attend on the days your subjects are scheduled.
Is there a second attempt?
No. CUET UG happens once a year. Miss it, and you wait for CUET 2028.
When should I start preparing?
Now. If you are reading this in early 2026, you have over a year, which is plenty. Even starting eight to nine months before the exam works fine.
