CTET 2027 Complete Guide: Latest Updates, Eligibility, Paper 1 & 2 Coaching Institutes, Test Series & Syllabus
Prepare for CTET 2027 with eligibility, Paper 1 and 2 syllabus, applications, and Adda247, Testbook, Physics Wallah and Utkarsh coaching choices.

Hello students! I'm Runal Naik, an Education Research Writer at AcademyCheck. Planning to teach Classes 1 to 8? Start your CTET preparation by choosing the right paper and checking your teacher-training qualification. That choice affects the syllabus, the course you buy and the teaching posts you can eventually apply for.
This CTET 2027 guide brings those decisions together, with the latest CBSE update, Paper 1 and Paper 2 preparation routes, application steps and practical ways to compare coaching.
CTET 2027 Latest Updates and Exam Dates
The CTET 2027 notification, fees and application timetable are awaited. Follow CBSE's CTET portal for the new announcement.
There is an important update for candidates already registered for the 22nd edition. CBSE's 14 September 2026 public notice says the examination will take place on 12 and 13 December 2026. It supersedes the original September dates. The notice specifies city/date information 15 days before the examination and admit cards two days before it.

What CTET Qualifies You For
The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. Paper 1 covers the primary stage, Classes 1 to 5; Paper 2 covers Classes 6 to 8. Candidates intending to teach both stages need both papers and the relevant qualifications.
CTET is an eligibility test. Passing does not create a teaching vacancy, appoint a candidate or fix a salary. Central-school and other participating-school recruitment advertisements separately determine qualifications, age conditions, subject combinations and selection stages. State-school applicants must check whether their intended recruitment accepts CTET or requires a state TET.
CTET Eligibility: Check Your Qualification First
The 2026 information bulletin directs candidates to NCTE minimum qualifications and the relevant recruitment rules. Permission to sit the test is not final verification of eligibility.
For orientation, the NCTE minimum-qualification notification includes primary-stage routes such as Senior Secondary with the prescribed marks plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, a four-year B.El.Ed., or the specified special-education qualification. Graduation plus a two-year D.El.Ed. is another listed route. Upper-primary routes include applicable graduation-and-teacher-training combinations and specified integrated degrees.
Before applying, check these details against current notifications and amendments:
Whether your qualification is accepted for Paper 1, Paper 2 or both
Required marks, category relaxation and recognition of your institution/course
Whether pursuing or final-year candidates are permitted under the applicable rules
The separate qualifications demanded by the teaching vacancy you want
Do not assume that holding any B.Ed. degree automatically establishes primary-teacher eligibility. Keep your qualification documents ready and resolve an unusual degree or equivalence question with the competent authority before paying.
Paper 1 and Paper 2 Exam Pattern
Use the September 2026 bulletin as a preparation baseline until a 2027 bulletin is issued. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks and lasts two-and-a-half hours. Each correct response earns one mark; there is no negative marking.
Paper 1
Subject | Qs | Marks |
|---|---|---|
Child | 30 | 30 |
Language I | 30 | 30 |
Language II | 30 | 30 |
Mathematics | 30 | 30 |
Environmental | 30 | 30 |
Total | 150 | 150 |
Paper 2
Subject | Qs | Marks |
|---|---|---|
Child | 30 | 30 |
Language I | 30 | 30 |
Language II | 30 | 30 |
Mathematics | 60 | 60 |
Total | 150 | 150 |
Language II must differ from Language I. Choose the Paper 2 subject option that matches your intended teaching subject and recruitment requirements. Practise filling an OMR sheet as well as answering questions when preparing against the current pen-and-paper format.
CTET Syllabus and Study Material
The detailed syllabus is in the official bulletin's appendix. It combines subject knowledge with the ability to teach children, so memorising school facts alone leaves a significant gap.
For Child Development and Pedagogy, work on learning, development, inclusive education and classroom situations. In languages, combine comprehension with language-learning and teaching principles. Mathematics requires content, reasoning, common learner errors and pedagogy. Paper 1 EVS integrates the child's surroundings with ways to teach through observation and activities. Paper 2 requires deeper subject content alongside pedagogical understanding.
Begin with the relevant NCERT school texts, the official syllabus and papers from the CTET question-paper archive. After each chapter, solve questions that ask why a teaching approach works. Write the reason for rejecting the other options; this is useful for closely worded pedagogy questions.
CTET Application Form, Fees and Admit Card
When the relevant application window opens:
Open the application link from the official CTET website and read the cycle's bulletin
Register using your own contact details and preserve the application number
Enter qualification details, paper choice, Paper 2 subject and two language choices carefully
Upload the photograph and signature in that cycle's prescribed format
Pay the applicable fee and download the successful confirmation page
Check permitted fields during the official correction window
As a budgeting reference only, the 2026 bulletin lists General/OBC(NCL) fees of Rs 1,000 for one paper or Rs 1,200 for both; SC/ST/differently-abled fees are Rs 500 or Rs 600 respectively, with applicable bank charges/GST. These are not confirmed 2027 fees.
Download the admit card separately when released. Check your name, paper, languages, examination centre and reporting time. A city-information slip is not a substitute for the admit card.
Coaching Institutes and Test Series to Compare
A beginner may benefit from a complete teaching-and-practice course; a repeat candidate with sound concepts may need only targeted lessons and mock tests. Compare the exact paper and language before paying.
Adda247
Adda247 has an AcademyCheck profile covering its broader exam-preparation offering. Its current CTET course catalogue lists separate Paper 1, Paper 2 Mathematics and Science, and Paper 2 Social Science batches. This makes it an option to inspect for structured online classes. Check the teacher roster, timetable and whether access continues through your intended 2027 attempt. The profile displays 4.0/5 from one review, a small sample rather than a CTET-specific outcome measure.
Testbook
Testbook's CTET test series offers full-length, sectional and previous-paper practice in Hindi and English. It is an option for students who already have study material and need regular testing. Check the distinction between complete mocks and short quizzes, solution quality and subscription expiry rather than choosing by the total test count.

Physics Wallah
PW's Hinglish CTET Premium Infinity Dec 2026 Paper 1 batch lists live classes, recordings, notes, revision, doubt support and practice tests. Its course runs from October to December 2026, with access until 30 September 2027. Check that the selected paper and access period suit your preparation plan.
Ashish Tiwari - 15+ years - Child Development and Pedagogy, as named in the course schedule.
The listed Paper 1 subjects include CDP, languages, Mathematics and EVS. A Paper 2 candidate should select the matching subject combination instead.

Utkarsh Classes
Utkarsh offers CTET preparation for Paper 1 and Paper 2 through live and recorded learning, notes, practice questions, tests and doubt sessions. Its catalogue also includes a separate Level I recorded course.
Choose the paper-specific product and languages; a Level I course is not complete preparation for both papers.
Check the current teacher roster, validity and feedback support before choosing recorded-only or live learning.

Result, Qualifying Marks and Next Steps
Under the 2026 bulletin, 60% or more is the CTET pass benchmark. Applicable concessions depend on the relevant reservation policy; do not substitute an unofficial category-wise chart. The qualifying certificate has lifetime validity under the current rules.
Check the official answer-key/OMR notice, submit supported challenges within its window, and download the result and certificate through the announced official links. Afterwards, track eligible recruitment advertisements and retain your academic and teacher-training records for document verification.
FAQs
Has CTET 2027 registration started?
The 2027 registration timetable is awaited. Follow CBSE's CTET portal for the new announcement.
Can I prepare for both papers together?
Yes, if eligible. Share revision for pedagogy and languages, but reserve separate time for Paper 1 EVS and the Paper 2 subject option.
Is coaching compulsory?
No. A syllabus-led plan, authentic textbooks, previous papers and careful mock analysis can support self-study. Choose coaching for a specific gap such as explanations, language support or study discipline.
