Who can apply for the Pragati Scholarship?
Check every point before starting the form:
Applicant: Only female students can apply.
Family limit: Up to two girl children from one family can receive the scholarship.
Income limit: Annual family income must be below ₹8 lakh.
Course: The student must be in an AICTE-approved technical degree or diploma programme.
Year of admission: Fresh applicants must be admitted in the first year, or in the second year through lateral entry.
Other scholarship: The applicant must not already receive another Central Government, State Government or AICTE-sponsored scholarship.
Course level: Postgraduate, non-technical and dual-degree courses are not covered under the eligibility described in the official FAQ.
Do not assume that an institute is eligible only because it offers an engineering or diploma course. Verify the institute and course approval for the current academic year.
How much financial support is available?
Amount: ₹50,000 per year.
Degree students: Up to four years for a first-year entrant, or up to three years for a lateral-entry student.
Diploma students: Up to three years for a first-year entrant, or up to two years for a lateral-entry student.
Payment method: Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the student's Aadhaar-seeded general savings bank account.
Permitted support: The lump sum can support college fees, a computer, stationery, books, equipment and software.
Not added separately: The official FAQ says no extra grant is paid for hostel or medical charges.
The bank account should be in the student's own name. The official FAQ says a minor, joint or FRILL account is not accepted for disbursement.
How to apply on NSP: point-wise process
Confirm eligibility: Verify course level, admission year, family income and AICTE approval before creating the application.
Prepare Aadhaar and bank details: Check that the student's name and other details match across Aadhaar, the bank account and academic records.
Create NSP One Time Registration: Visit the National Scholarship Portal. OTR is a 14-digit number used for the student's academic career and is required for an NSP application.
Complete Aadhaar authentication: Follow the OTR and face-authentication instructions. If biometric authentication fails, check whether Aadhaar biometrics are locked and update the official AadhaarFACERD app when required.
Sign in to the student dashboard: Use the OTR and registered credentials.
Select the correct scheme: Choose either AICTE Pragati Technical Degree or AICTE Pragati Technical Diploma. Do not select a similar scheme only because its name appears nearby.
Fill the form carefully: Enter personal, domicile, family-income, admission, institute, course and bank information exactly as supported by documents.
Upload clear documents: Use readable files with the required signatures and official stamps.
Review before final submission: Recheck the scheme, course year, bank details and every uploaded certificate.
Submit by 31 October 2026: Save the application ID, confirmation and a copy of the submitted form as proof.
Contact the institute nodal officer: Ask the institute to verify and forward the application by the NSP deadline.
Track the dashboard: Respond immediately if the application is marked defective or a correction is requested.
