AEE Electrical Engineering Exam Draws 25,028 Candidates Across 94 Centres

Vijayawada: A total of 25,028 candidates appeared for the first day of the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Electrical Engineering recruitment examination in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. The exam was held as a computer-based test at centres across the State and in other locations.

As many as 28,695 candidates were scheduled to take the test on the first day. This means around 87% of the planned candidates attended the examination. For a recruitment test of this size, that is a large crowd of engineers sitting at computers instead of waiting for a bus that may or may not arrive on time.

629 AEE posts are available

The recruitment drive aims to fill 629 Assistant Executive Engineer posts in Andhra Pradesh power utilities. The examination has attracted 53,702 applications, showing the strong interest in engineering jobs in the State power sector.

The Electrical Engineering examination is being conducted over two days, on Wednesday and Thursday. Candidates are taking the test through the computer-based test format. Examinations for other engineering disciplines are also part of the wider schedule, which runs from August 23 to 27.

Exam held at 94 centres

The first day of the examination was held smoothly at 94 centres in Andhra Pradesh and other States. Officials put security and identity checks in place at all locations to protect the fairness of the recruitment process.

Biometric registration was used to confirm the identity of candidates. Officials also checked identity documents before allowing candidates to enter the exam process. CCTV cameras monitored the centres during the test. These steps help reduce the risk of impersonation and support a clear record of what happens at each venue.

For candidates, these checks can add a few minutes before the test. However, they form an important part of a large public recruitment exam. When thousands of people compete for a limited number of posts, even small gaps in security can create major problems.

Command centre monitored attendance and security

AP Transco Joint Managing Director Suryasai Praveen Chand monitored the examination from the Command and Control Centre at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada. He reviewed attendance figures, security measures and technical arrangements at centres in different locations.

A central monitoring system helps officials track the examination without visiting every centre. It also allows them to respond to issues related to attendance, computer systems or security. In an exam spread across 94 centres, that level of coordination matters. One room filled with screens can save many officers a great deal of travel.
