The age limit for Manager posts is 32 years, and for Junior Executive posts it is 27 years, calculated as on September 7, 2026. Reserved category candidates get age relaxation as per government norms, up to 10 years in some cases.

What is the Application Fee?

General category candidates need to pay Rs. 1000 to apply. Women candidates, reserved category candidates, and current AAI employees do not need to pay any fee. That's one less thing to worry about if you fall in these categories.

How Will Candidates Be Selected?

The selection process is not the same for everyone. Here's what to expect:

  • Computer-Based Test: An objective exam for all posts. The good part? No negative marking, so guessing won't cost you marks.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates need to bring original documents for checking.
  • Interview: Only for Manager posts (Post Codes 1 to 11).
  • Physical Tests: Candidates applying for Fire Services need to clear a Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, and Driving Test before the interview stage.
  • Medical Exam: Every selected candidate must meet AAI's health standards.

What Does the Exam Look Like?

The Computer-Based Test runs for 2 hours and includes objective type questions. You can take the test in either English or Hindi. And remember, there's no negative marking, so attempt every question you can.

What About the Salary?

This is where things get interesting. AAI offers a strong pay package for both posts.

  • Manager (Group-A, E-3 Level): Pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000, with an approximate CTC of Rs. 21 lakhs per year.
  • Junior Executive (Group-B, E-1 Level): Pay scale of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,40,000, with an approximate CTC of Rs. 14 lakhs per year.

On top of the basic salary, employees get Dearness Allowance, perks worth 35% of basic pay, House Rent Allowance, Provident Fund, Gratuity, medical benefits, and social security coverage. That's a fairly complete package for anyone starting a government career.

How to Apply

The application process is fully online. Head to www.aai.aero once the link goes live on August 8, fill in your details carefully, upload the required documents, and pay the fee if applicable. Double check every entry before you submit, since corrections after submission can be tricky.

Keep your documents ready in advance: educational certificates, experience letters if required, category certificates, and a scanned photograph and signature in the specified format. This saves you from last minute stress when the form goes live.
